Just got home from my guitar lesson. Last week I showed up with a new Ibanez Artcore AG75, really nice guitar for the bucks, Les Paul is lonely on the stand these days. Anyway long story short, my guitar teacher liked the Artcore so much that she showed up with a new one of her own tonight !

Don't know much about the Yamahas but I recently bought an Ibanez Artcore AM73 that's almost obscenely nice to play. It's rapidly becoming my guitar of choice over my Strat and Les Paul.

The onla Yamaha I've played is the Sa2200 at EUR1100. Sounds expensive, but it outclasses as Gibson 335 by miles. The finish is immaculate and you even get properly polished frets - a beautiful guitar. The only thing that I was not happy with was the somewhat heavy neck - but I'm sure that if Yamaha offered me an SA2200, I'd find a way to live with it.

I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.

Indeed, Ibanez seems to have carved themselves out to be the only manufacturer of decent quality low priced semi-hollows.

I think I'm the only person in the world who doesn't like the way they feel, but hey, to each their own.

Their sound is so cool, I could almost forgive the fact that the edges of their fretboards always feel like razor blades to me. Maybe I just hit a bad crop, or maybe I should buy one and just have the edge rolled a little bit. :?
