American saddles on a Mexican strat

The screws for my old Mexican Strat saddles wore out, so i went to the shop to buy some replacements, but all they had were American ones. i bought them, took them home, and had a look to see if they'll fit my Mexican. turns out the screw hole is at the wrong place - i don't think they're gonna fit. doesn anyone have any knowledge on this? will American Strat saddles fit on a Mexican?
