Just got a 59 DC reissue. Love the way it plays and sounds!

But the guys at the factory put the strap button so close to the neck that I had to switch the fat and skinny ends of my strap in order for it to hold on. What I have found out so far is that this is a common issue with the Dannys.

I'm thinking of putting the strap button on the back of the guitar body itself since there doesn't seem to be enough room on that shelf behind the neck. Body construction is "masonite/plywood". or on the end of one of the "horns" like a strat.

Anyone else deal with this and what did you do?

Thanks

Not sure where I found this idea. But someone someplace suggested that, instead of relocating the strap button and possibly messing something up, why not just trim the leather on the end of the strap so it will actually fit? I did that over the weekend and it works perfect. I've got the support from the wide end of the strap, without taking the risk of crumbling the construction material at the original strap button location. I guess I would rather mutilate a $10 strap than a $200-$300 guitar.
:D
