Well, it was time to change strings a few days ago and after I finished restringing my Fernandes Les Paul I noticed that there was fret buzz on the 4th fret of the high e-string all of a sudden.

What could be the reason for that? It's quite strange that it's only on this fret, I mean if the string action was too low it would be across the whole string, right?

I've got quite a new bone saddle as well, so I don't think it's because of that.

Could it be that the Tune-O-Matic bridge is too low for the high e-string.

Well, any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Did you go to a lighter string gauge?

My first thought was, perhaps I grabbed a wrong package, but no it's the same as always, 0.10 - 0.46.

Well, I raised the Tune-O-Matic bridge now and it works fine, but one last question...

After raising the bridge is it necessary to adjust the trussrod as well, if so I wouldn't do it myself, just wanted to know.

Thank you in advance.

Raising the bridge in itself wouldn't necessitate adjusting the truss rod, but I'm still wondering if your buzz may mean your truss rod needs adjusting.
