I have a recent vintage blue Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Quilt Top PRO Electric Guitar Translucent Blue just like the one at this link.
Unfortunately, mine has a couple of surface scratches that penetrate the dark blue outer ring of the front of the guitar such that the natural color of the wood is exposed. I have read in a post by user Ricochet in this forum (url below) that car paint would be a good match for the enamel finish on painted Epiphones. I would be grateful for his comments on using Duplicolor Scratch Fix All in 1 pen. It contains a paint and a clear color finish with a applicator.
Thanks.
Well, the results were ok for my first try.
Two issues: The paint color match was not as close as I thought. That may have to do with the paint being used on wood instead of a car. Second, I think I wasn't aggressive enough on the wet sanding to give it a professional finish. Overall, a good first effort but not up to professional standards (yet).
