I have a mid 80's Jackson Charvel, and when I use the volume knob it makes a really loud humming and buzzing noise that would make your ears bleed. I have had many people look at it and they all say deffernt things, some guy said it was the pc board in the guitar that is dead, and another said it was just the jack on the guitar. They have discontinued making the pc board that the charvel uses. What else could be making the noise and how should I fix it?
Replacing the jack should be fairly easy and inexpensive. If you wanted to try that first. Beyond that, this pc board would be a little more involved to replace, but there should be a solution. I'll look into it. Please give more specifics on the model if you can!! Year, what it is and just generally more info, please.
