I just got my Custom Shop Texas Specials in the mail today and I am happy but rather bummed out. There seems to be some scuffs on the poles of the middle pick up. In fact on one pole there is almost a "lip" rounded out on part of it. Since I have never replaced pick ups and never came across any pick ups with a problem like this before, I was wondering if this would affect the sound in a negative way?

Thanks for your time.

as long as the magnet (usually the same as the Strat pup polepiece, except on low cost versions) is not cracked or demagnetized, it should be fine. sounds fine, and no unusually bad microphonics, then the pup is fine.

Yeah, it'll sound fine. They typically get scuffed and dinged a bit with use, and some people try to do that artificially with new ones that look too perfect.
