Just re-discovering playing slide.
What is the "easiest" way to raise the action on a Squier 51 ? Truss Rod?
Thanks
Keith

I know a little bit about a lot of things, but not a lot about anything...
Looking for people to jam with in Sydney Oz.......

No -- the truss rod is for adjusting relief (curve or bow of the neck from head to body), and that is not string height adjustment even though adjusting relief affects action.

the two places to adjust action (after relief is properly set) are the bridge and the nut. for slide playing, start by raising the saddles of the bridge. that's done by adjusting the two Allen screws in each saddle. at the same time, you may want to change the string profile (curve to follow the radius of the fingerboard ) a bit for slide -- up to you. then try out the raised bridge and see if the action works or height at the nut should be raised as well. if you are mixing slide and normal finger fretting, you will probably want to leave the nut as is.
