This my 1st chip out of one of my guitars (yes, I know I should consider myself lucky), but it's a black Fender Stratocaster, and the chip goes all the way to the wood but the wood isn't damaged. Is there any "secrets" that people use to fix these types of chips? Or should I just take black paint, and fill it in?
I've heard taking it somewhere to have it fixed would cost a very large amount of money because they'd have to redo the entire paint job, but I'm not sure I buy that.
Any Suggestions?
Thank you in advance!

You could cover the chip with black nail varnish - it isn't a "repair", but you won't see the wood and moisture won't get in, either.
I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.

You're welcome.
A little tip: warm the varnish before applying it (you can keep it down your bra or wherever for 15 minutes or so - we won't look, I promise :D ) - it makes the varnish just a little more fluid. DON'T be tempted to put it on the stove or in the microwave - that is very, very, dangerous!!!

I'm glad you told me that, because I didn't know. I would have blown myself to Mars. LOL I wish I was kidding, but I prolly would have. LOL
I have to learn how to work these boards a little better...since I see your name alot can you tell me what the difference between "reply" and "quick reply" is? If it is too off topic for this board just let me know. Just thought I'd include it all in one rather than creating another post for it.

If you look, you'll see that the quick reply leaves the buttons (bold, italic, underline, etc.) off. You can still use the tags, but you have to enter them yourself. If you don't need tags or smileys, use the quick reply, otherwise use the normal one.
