Arrangement by Karl Scheit (really). I've improvised the ornaments (trills and stuff) in the repeats, as musicians of the day were expected to do, and in the middle section.
My guitar is tuned to A=415 in line with Nigel North's renaissance lute on the NAXOS recordings of the Dowland material, rather than A=440 which we use now. Capo on the 3rd fret to replicate the sound of the renaissance lute.

Tuned down a half-step? Something have been around a lot longer than I thought!
Yes, it is almost a half-step. But if Alan uses the capo on the 3rd fret, the result is he is tuning up almost a whole-step.
Not very familiar with the lute (although I love its sound). Surely Alan or Tom could add some light about it!
