Alright, I'm biting the bullet and posting a song with me singing. Be gentle.
be gentle??? why. you sound great. nashville must have rubbed you the right way.
I like the guitar fills I hear on the right channel. I would like more of them working closely with your vocals.
man, you have talent. keep it up and let's hear more.

It sounds pretty good actually. Some of the faster licks are a bit out of time. It actually sounds like you're hesitating slightly before you start some licks, as if you're unsure about them. For the rest the guitar is perfect. The vocals are fine. Vocal tone is very personal but IMHO you have a pleasant voice, any chance of you writing an original? You're rhythm guitar is functional, your lead is coming along fine and you're voice is begging to tell your own story.
dogbite, thanks. You are right, I should have included more lead. I stuck too close to the original.
Ignar, thank you as well. I just couldn't get some of the faster licks nailed when the (virtual) tape was rolling, so I went with the best I had. It probably didn't help that I had a few screwdrivers during recording. I probably was hesitating during the solo, I improvised it. I am working on some originals, one in particular I've recorded a few times but have been unhappy with the vocals. Since no one has begged me never to sing again, I'll be a little more confident and get it finished.

Good job. I really like how you chose to sing it. :)
