Got asked to do some oriental type music and this is the result. I like doing this sort of stuff at times as I am never quite sure where I am going but I always appear to get there in the end LOL. It passed the does the wife like it test so let's hope the publisher does as well.

I would hope so!
Genius
This strikes me as a soundtrack from some big Hollywood (cinema) production.
I'm impressed.

It's the rock that gives the stream its music . . . and the stream that gives the rock its roll.

nice production. the headroom is luscious.
the piece flows like a little creek reflecting glints of light as it passes under over hanging willows.
very soothing and truthful.
btw, happy lunar new year.

I can never post the link correctly, but I saw recently on youtube a chinese orchestra.
they had that guitar instrument with the triangular pick., flutes, drums, etc.
the vsts you used were really good.
anyway, this video goes on and they start playing 'Smoke on the Water'.
and it was really good.

Gerry. your compositions are so right to my ears. props.

Many thanks Ken I hope you are right LOL It's a tough old world out there and its a lottery in getting this sort of music to the right ears at the right time. One of these days I might just strike lucky but fortunately I really enjoy making music and that is perhaps the only real consideration for doing it that stacks up these days.

Best,

Gerry

Hello Trev many thanks my friend and I really appreciate you sending your friends for a visit. I did reply to them on the message board as its always a real bonus when someone is kind enough to take the time and leave a message.

Hope all is well with you and yours and once again thank you.

Hello my friend and thanks for the nice comments. There are three instrument VST's used on this track, Dimension Pro for the pad, NUSofting Harp Time for the harp over on the right of the mix and Kong Audio ChineeKong for some of the percussion. Everything else is off my Yamaha Motif-Rack ES which never ceases to inspire and amaze me by the possibilities it offers in tweakable sounds.

There is a really fine line between too little and too much and I played some lead guitar on this which sounded really nice however it detracted rather than added to. What I normally do is play the track back to my wife bringing instruments in and out of the mix and get her reaction as to what works or not. She is not a musician but has a really unbiased opinion and great perception of what she likes and doesn't like, I don't always agree with her but the fact is she is right on the button 99% of the time. Damn it LOLO

Have a good one,

VERY COOL. 8)

Great musicianship, Gerry, not just guitaring....overall. ... Fantastic!!

Convert me to fan status. I'll take a T-shirt and CD.

And I'm having Chinese for lunch today. All I'm missing is a fortune cookie.

Great artistry!!!

Why thanks you Bish if I ever have a CD or my name printed on a T Shirt you will be the first to get one I promise. My good friend Tracy Lundgren from Australia has just put this music to a video which I think is absolutely magic. Mind you I am biased LOLO http://www.vimeo.com/684757
