A friend of mine, Robin, came to me with a chordsheet and a set of lyrics and asked if I could help him record it. The final result is this: http://www.box.net/shared/d5m2sj8qog
All vocals, piano and bass-parts done by him. The guitar sole, drums and production is done by me. All critiques very much apreciated.
Apart from the hand clap dragging a little I really enjoyed this.

Those who can't dance always blame the band.
That'll teach her not to call. :)
Who says music is not therapeutic?
. . . "other fish in the sea" . . .
It's the rock that gives the stream its music . . . and the stream that gives the rock its roll.
Very impressed man ...
Robin and you did a great job in my opinion ...

Here is to you as good as you are
And here is to me as bad as I am
As good as you are and as bad as I am
I'm as good as you are as bad as I am
I really like most of this. the musicianship all around is top notch, tasteful and right on.
I am listening carefully to how you handle midi. you captured that rush when the instrument build
and the drum releases the crest to the full out beat. that is great.
the beginning , I feel needs more tension or feeling. maybe a drone way back in the mix.
maybe my ears were hearing the room humidifer whir. it kinda worked with the vox(voice).
the only thing i can think to say in terms of criticism is that the tambourine starts a little too suddenly. i like the hand clapping because it's unexpected. the guitar solo is great and i like how it comes in. it reminds me a lot of some of john frusciante's guitar solos, not with the chili peppers, but on some his his solo albums.
