I couldn't find anywhere to post this so I placed it here.

I want to start posting some music that I have recorded or demos for feedback. I noticed you folks who are doing this already are hosting your music from a variety of different sources - Soundclick, MySpace, the box. I was wondering if anyone has any opinon as to which they perfere and why. Some pitfalls that I am not aware of. I though about creating a myspace a while ago, everyone has one now it seems including some professionals, but I don't know if that's what I want.

Any advice is appreciated.

Myspace has poor quality streams which works to the advantage of pros. IE: You can't just capture the streams to add to your iPod. It works to the disadvantage of everyone else in that it just sounds horrible. Don't let that discourage you from signing up though. Myspace is a good way to attract attention to your music.

I use soundclick. I like how they deal with things. You can sell your music there. They take a cut of course but the service is otherwise free. They have hifi and lofi streams. You can choose to allow free downloads, paid downloads or no downloads.

Dmusic is fine. Similar options to soundclick. The one major advantage soundclick has is the ability to cusomize your page.

Not sure bout the rest.

I personally prefer Soundclick, but mainly because they haven't blocked it from work (yet).

I like soundclick too. the quality of playback is really good. plus, for a small monthly charge you can upgrade your free account so you can upload huge pieces of music. I also like how the site easily links to other musical genres. I have found so excellent music from around the world.
