Your fret-hand technique is appallingly bad. At 0:38 you'll notice your hand is so badly out of position you really struggle to get from the 8th fret to the 3rd in time. There's a similar problem at 1:26 where you don't even change position.

Having your fret-hand thumb so far over the neck, on the fingerboard in fact, and using it to hang on for dear life (or fret notes on the bottom strings) means the rest of your hand has to reach a long way round the neck and then it's got work to do to fret anything. Yes, I know Jimi Hendrix played that way but that doesn't mean it's ok.

there is no such thing as proper left hand technique. if you can make it work, you can make it work. if you find a better way, so be it. it was a catchy little tune, and you have a nice strat. are there aspects you could work on? sure! but we all have something. rock on, man.
