No... not a chew toy  I just got my new dulcimer from MF today (well yesterday). Its just a $65 student model but its not bad for the bucks. I need to put some better strings on it and maybe replace the tuning keys later. Anyway I was messing around and recorded a little ditty I made up. Keep in mind its my first attempt at the dulcimer

I've always liked the sound of a dulcimer. Enjoy your new toy & I hope you post some more songs with it.

congrats! Love the delcimer - i live in declimer country! A dear friend who is now on the other side, Homer Ledord, was a master delcimer maker - one of his is in the Smithsonian in DC. In Berea, a small KY town, Warren May is a well-respected builder of delcimers. May be interesting to check these gentlemen if your interested. BTW - love the hammer declimer as well. Enjoy!

My Dad lived near Berea back in the 90's. I visited a couple dulcimer maker shops there back in 96. Its a beautiful little town :D

Martin Carthy is the guy who turned me on to the dulcimer back in the 70's. I was a big Steeleye Span fan :note2:

Sounds great. I have an uncle who used to build hammer dulcimers, not sure why he doesn't anymore.

Cool sound.
You made it sound like the stringed equivalent of bagpipes . . . with that droning sound.

More!

It's the rock that gives the stream its music . . . and the stream that gives the rock its roll.
