I was learning Average White Band's "Pick up the Pieces" on bass and decided I wanted to record a cover of it. First, I tried to use some VSTs to duplicate the saxophone and trumpet, but the free versions just didn't sound right. I let it sit for a while and found some old school synth VSTs a couple weeks ago. I decided to embrace the fact that I wasn't using all "real" instruments and really do my own version of the song. I changed the rhythm guitar to a piano and the sax and trumpet to synths. Of course it is not as good as the original, but I think it turned out pretty good. Let me know what you think.

Edited the url. Soundclick decided to be difficult.
i don't know the original, but your version sounded sweet. jamming to it would be a lot of fun, too.
Sounds like the funk to me! Good job! 8)
