this is a very rough recording that I "forced" my 14 yo daughter record fairly late Friday night. She is the reason I started playing and I enjoy nothing more than her allowing me to play while she sings.

Nice singing voice and cool fingerpicking. Keep going.

Next time you mix it, start with the voice to get a nice level, then 'sneak' the guitar up so it's just beneath the vocal. Pretty good mix as it is, but just a touch lower on the guitar will push the voice out front.

Good job!

Thanks. That wasnt finger style, I was playing with a pick.

I have been trying all weekend to figure out how to lay down separate tracks and not get bleed from the guitar track but still be able to allow her to hear herself as well as the guitar while she sings. I agree, the guitar was too strong.

I'll get better with it.

Aside from the already mentioned mix nag, I can only say WOW! your guitar sounds really nice, and the singing is very impressive.

Keep up the good work, both of you! :)

Very nice playing and your daughter has a beautiful voice. You might want to try recording the guitar track and then let her sing using headphones as the monitor. I'm by no means an expert at recording, but it has helped me.

Again, thanks for the kind words and encouragement.

I was chastised fairly severely this morning when I showed my daughter some of your comments.

"Dad, I can't believe you put that up already, it wasn' very good....I wanted to record a better one..."

I can see what I'll be doing this weekend.

 I know what teenage daughters can be like. Got a 16-year-old model myself.

Tell your daughter we want more so she'd better be thinking about what to record next. She has a beautiful voice.

Wow, great job, thanks for posting this. I picked up the guitar and found this site earlier this week, and honestly listening to this song gives me a big motivation. I would love to someday be able to strum some songs and have a friend/family sing to them.

Wow. Your daughter has a great voice. She seems a bit reserved with her singing. I'm sure she could do a lot better. Don't take that the wrong way. I just hear potential. I'm guessing she's quite young? Songs like this are easier to sing when you've been around a little longer. Nice playing as well. Keep em coming. Encouragement goes a long way.
