boxboy. wow , thanks for the compliment.
ya, the BT had a great groove and I grabbed my lap steel and just went at it.
Going Down is a Jeff Beck song. might be off Beckola.
Considering that a lot of people here are into the blues, it makes me sad that no-one realised that goin down was a Freddie King original.
SRV and Jeff Beck both did covers.
This is my all time favorite Freddie King song.
Who needs a signature?
I mean really...
It's almost always lyrics...
or a cliche...
or garbage about me...
Lets just save YOU from the pain, ok?

I was just reading up on the song when you posted Duff and Freddie King's version looks to be a cover as well.
It's written by a guy named Don Nix. Here's his Wiki:

What a pedigree!
:)

I love geneology when it comes to music. thanks Boxboy.
Did Freddie Cover, or was it a Freddie Original Arranged for him by Nix?
Read under Shelter Years: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freddy_King
Nix arranged a lot of blues songs for some of the blues legends, as stated on the Nix wiki.
And here at the songs wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Going_Down

Duff, both the links you provided cite Don Nix as the author of the song.
What say we let the dog(bite) have his day? He lit it up on a great track and that should be what this thread's about...if you want to discuss the origin of the song further, maybe start a new thread or send a PM.
:)
Don
I was so involved in that whole bit if forgot to tell dogbite how much I enjoyed listening to his recording. Sorry Much! You had great recording tone, and the whole thing flowed. I just leaned back in my chair and let it happen. Good music does that to you. Bravo!

thanks. and I do not mind the music history posts.
I am deeply influenced by following the journey of instruments, songs, and even word origination.
so let the posts flow.
music can be educational. :) :)
Awesome :) makes me want to learn to play slide. In fact, I think I will, you've inspired me sir.
thanks. this was a long track. frankly, it wore me out.
I thought about opening it up to others.
so, if anyone wants in let me know.
I found a site with really nice tracks. they are free, although he says if you use a lot he would not mind a tip or gratuity.
I think this link works:
yeah, this works.
Thanks for this
