Lo Fi "I Tell You The Truth
Hi Fi "I Tell You The Truth
I Tell You The Truth
by Jim Couch
If I told them that you, walked on stormy water
If I told them that you, are the bread of life
And if told them you came in my heart
into my life
Would they scold me and say, you never healed the leaper
Will they hate me and say, you never cured the blind
Would they run away, out of sight out of mind
I tell you the truth, your a child of heaven
I tell you the truth, you are a friend of mine
I tell you the truth, somehow
Every knee shall bend, every head will bow
But if I told them that you, are my loving savior
if I told them that you, are the Son of God
and if I told them that you were crucified
for us all
Would they laugh and say theres nothing in the heavens
Will they scream my way, that you were just a lie
Would they beat me I pray, would they come and take my life

Great lyrics, Geoo. I can't get the link to work though.
The error message is:
This window starts the SoundClick player. If you have enabled a pop-up blocker, you can click the link here: [then it gives a link]
But when I click the link given there, nothing happens. :? And I am able to play other links to SoundClick files.
Maybe it's just too soon after you've posted it. I'll try again later.
Anyone else having problems with it?
[edit: I see Dan was able to play it. I'll go exploring in my computer and see if some setting has been changed]
[edit 2: I was able to get to your SoundClick page via the link in your signature. Great song!!!]

When my mind is free, you know a melody can move me
And when I'm feelin' blue, the guitar's comin' through to soothe me ~
Margaret,
I get the same message. Go to Jim's signature and click on "Geoo's Music" & it will take you to his soundclick page and you'll see the song. Well worth listening to. :)

A cool song indeed! I like the guitar, it has a nice positive undercurrent which sits well with the vocals. The entire mix could use a tad more reverb though as the dryness somewhat prevent both tracks to blend together. But a great job overall. :D
Great song, Geoo. I really like the chord progression; vocal melody is nice too. I agree with Arjen that the mix could use a little work. It seems somewhat muddy or muffled; but, I couldn't do any better myself at this point. Thanks for sharing :)
Thanks guys. Ya. I wasnt going for a final mix. This is just me and my guitar. A one take thing.
Glad you liked.

Finally got to listen to this, sorry for the delay Jim.
WOW! Really hits ya in the gut!
This could be picked up by a P&W band. I can easily hear Jars of Clay doing it, or someone like that. It's got an edginess to the lyrics that would keep it off most "family friendly" Christian radio, but some of the more leading-edge bands could get it done.
WELL DONE!
