It Must Be Love
by Jim Couch

How could you look me in the face
Through of all this disgrace, I put you through
How can you be standing at the door
Not letting me go walking through

And I know it hurts so bad,
When I am yelling, screaming mad, back at you
Still when we lay in bed at night
Your lips still whisper lightly, I love you

It must be love..... It must be love
It must be love
Ya know at times I've hurt you bad
and left you feeling mad, and crying on
But I never meant to hurt you
Or turn your loving soul into a heart of stone

And at times you get so silent
I feel as though this thing will never work
But now I know you just dont want
To say those hurtful things to the one you love

It must be love..... It must be love
It must be love

When I'm tearing down the walls
Making you feel so small, a little girl

When I'm howling at the moon
Insensitive so through and through

When I'm throwing in your face
All those times you made big mistake

When I'm swearing out of fear
Your face is soaked with tears, but you just love

it must be love
It must be love
It must be love
It must be love

hey the recording sounds really good. Song sounds nice, a bit repetitive but then again most famous songs are.

Thanks guys. I can never be completely satisfied with anything I do. I think maybe if I had more space to create a studio that was constantly set up or maybe had someone here to say.. Uh you missed that note bad.

I really appreciate the comments though and I think this is one of the best recordings I have done. Not to toot my own horn

It was fun playing all the instruments and singing the backgrounds for it. I think I am a better background singer than a lead singer. I wish I could soften up my voice but I couldnt get the effects in Audacity to do me right and I was too tired to pull out Krystal.

Yes, I did. It partially a volume. I have been purchasing alot of pedals lately. I have been trying to work on my "swell" and getting some help from the guitarist at my church, and talking with Mitch from here at GN too. Using my Schecter I am using my blues overdrive, a compressor/sustain, and my volume pedal to get that sound. It almost sounds like a slide guitar I think.

Thanks for the comment Smokehouse. I dont care for my lead vocals much but I really like the way that the background turned out.

Jim

ACK.. forgot to mention I am also using a delay pedal

Hey Jim,
wow mate excellent job. Your mp3 is certainly WOW. I have to say though that I agree with your girlfriend, it does make you seem a bit mean. For what its worth, if this was my song I might be inclined to change this verse
And at times you get so silent
I feel as though this thing will never work
But now I know you just dont want
To say those hurtful things to the one you love

to something like this:
And those times when I go silent
I fear as though this thing will never work
But you know I just dont want
To say those hurtful things to the one I love

this way the loving side of the "meany" is also exposed. Its makes you more real that way.

Well done done Jim, I wish I had written it.

cheers

Paul

A+ Great harmonies. Some pedal steel would be real nice in there. I'm not a country fan but I can reckognize a good song when I hear one. You did a great job. The vox could use maybe a bit of room verb. Some female backup would be nice too. Just to soften it up a tad more.
