Ok guys be kind. I've just been noodling around and came up with this improvised solo, I've called it Fender boogie coz I'm using my Strat and a Fender G-Dec for the backing. I appreciate any and all criticism's.

Thanks for taking the time to listen. Here's the link http://rodders.dmusic.com/

Sounds pretty good man. If you want criticism, it does sound a bit like your just fooling around at times. It sounds good throughout, but there just really isnt anything there that I remember after hearing it. You should try developing some of your favorite parts, technique wise is was good.

It sounds great to me. :D

I downloaded yesterday and was hearing several times today. Dneck could be right but I think it is only an improvised solo. Obviously you can develop some parts for a song or specific solo.

The Fender G-Dec sounds great as well!

Sounds great to me as well, Rod.
Nice spare phrasing. You really resisted the temptation to overplay in order to fill all the space. 8)
I'd love to hear you have another go over a BT with some chord changes. I must admit I didn't make it through the whole track, but that wasn't because of your playing. The repetition of the BT wore me out. :)

I hear what you are saying here.
I'm quite happy with it up to 01.55 then it goes a bit awry to 02.48.Not really happy with that bit at all. I'd like to develop the bit between 3.19 and 3.46 but after that I think I'd cut the rest out as it seems to be too repetitive.
Boxboy, I see what you mean about the backing, I hadn't realized until you mentioned it. I do actually have some good backing tracks on the PC somewhere, so I may give it a go soon.
Nuno, Yeah the G-Dec is a pretty versatile tool I usually only use it when I'm going to someone else's place to jam as it only weights a couple of pounds. Certainly a lot lighter than my Vox.

Thanks guys.

I agree... basically. :)

The first part is very good and the third one could be developed but it is good too. I see the second part as a kind of "bridge" between the other two. It is more or less 1' in which there is a "calm" or "rest" (as when you return to the tonic). That helps to get a better "impression" of the third part. Perhaps it could be reduded but I think it is necessary.

I said before, I like it!

There's a couple of places where it sounds like you're marking time, playing very familiar little licks while you're wondering what to do next. Technique's good though, and in some places you're really cutting loose. Nice tone too - and nice use of the delay. Sounds smooth enough to me, some nice bends and vibrtato. Pretty darn good for a first improv, I'd say - and the first one's always the hardest!

Nice one Rod!

wow dude, really good!

I think it's perfect, really. The part from 2 - end is AWESOME in my opinion, very laid back, chilled out, very cool. Great use of timing and dynamics, some of the most important parts improv.

loved it.

Great job Rod! 8) I really like your style. Now you gotta try some backing tracks and join an online jam. 8) :D

Only just stumbled onto this Rod whilst scanning any posts you had made recently.

Cool stuff! I can't do this sort of work so I'm not here to critisize. I just liked it and I think your early Pink Floyd influences are showing through a bit. keep going at it Rod.

Go with the flow Rodders just go with the flow, sounds fine to my ears especially as its a first time. Like everything it gets easier the more you do it. Try playing one lead one side then get a different tone and play one off against the other the other side.
