Um...so these are my first recordings ever. I typically refuse to record vocals and guitar seperate, so there are lots of hilarious mistakes everywhere, especially since I've only been playing a month and a half. So one is the beginning of "More than Words" and the other is "You Don't See Me." Don't know why I'm posting them--I guess just to show all the people who helped me out with my recording fiasco. I record just so I have records of my progress, hence the dates listed in the names of the songs on the website. So here it is http://www.soundclick.com/whitneyzeldow

If you have opinions or, more importantly, tips, I would really appreciate them. I only have a million things to think about and learn, so I'd stick to the necessary basics if you have a tip. I'll learn details later. Thanks. I hope the link works. If you see a beauty of a hurdling picture, you are in the right place. hehe.

Sounds very clear, good recording :D (I'm saving up for a Fire wire thingy myself).
Just keep on recording and experimenting. You might try a click track or metronome ( you can download free ones off the net). Also , its good to sing and play at the same time, but you might try to overdub the vocal just as a practice tool so you can concentrate on the vocals and phrasing and that sort of thing. ( although I'm the last one who should be giving advice on singing LOL) :P Thanks for posting your first song, your off to a good start :D :D --the dog

Nice recording, very impressive indeed! I copy the advice Ken gave you, it will give you a few advantages:

1) You can focuss better on the guitar and add some little extras
2) You can also focuss on your voice, which means the rhythm with the guitar is tighter and you can add more depth to your singing.
3) You can mix the tracks seperately, opening a new world to recording.
