Me playing my version of My Girl. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lo3CzY5GjLY
Hi Jeff!
That bass sounds very good! On the song, it seems it is a simplified version of the original Jamerson's bass line. I also played a different, reduced version. The second part, after the chorus, is very complex in the original. Jamerson was a amazing player.
By the way, the book in the background, is the book on James Jamerson?
Yep, I can't play the full Jamerson version yet. I love his playing, it's just so difficult to replicate. And that is the Standing in the Shadows of Motown book. Good eye!
Nice one, I like it.
Sounds good.
As an experiment, try keeping your thumb on the side of the pick-up. I find that it keeps my plucking consistent over all strings. Just a suggestion, YMMV.
Sounded nice!
