I have been trying to play this song along w/ the rust never sleeps version and I cant get it to right.

It's not bad, the strumming needs to be controlled a little bit more (softer). You need more of a dynamic balance with the single note runs being a little bit louder than the strumming. The strumming pattern and execution sounds a little off as well.
If you don't have the CD you can look up CD sale sites that have little soundclips of the song to help you (one found here - just scroll down the page). Our lesson here doesn't have an .mp3 with it, or they've reached max bandwidth so that's not really an option.
