Okay, well I finally got the 300 bucks to fork out for a few condensor mics and a good firewire interface to do some acoustic recordings. Well anyways, I jumped right into it without really knowing what i was doing and came up with these 2 recordings. Tell me what you think needs to be done, if anything at all

So, the first one i did is Yesterday by the Beatles (of course)... I cant sing so i used a guitar for the vocals

The second is Imagine by John Lennon (of course), and likewise i used a guitar for vocals, except i decided to do it an octive lower just for fun.

And, here they are http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=591951

Top 3 albums of all time:
1. Abbey Road
2. Dark Side of the Moon
3. Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

well 1st, lovely clear recording no problem this end...imagine was a bit harsh on guitar on the bass [maybe not use a pick fingerstyle would soften it nicely] and turn it down a bit, i was told about this on the take five piece i done this week [had to turn harmonica down and increase guitar melody...and that was right. yesterday ? are you sitting down ? this for me was brilliant!! :D did you play all of this yourself ? if so 10 out out 10! well done best wishes s

Yes , Yesterday was very good in recording settings and playing.

What type of recording stuff did you use ?

Tanglewood TW28STE (Shadow P7 EQ) acoustic
Yamaha RGX 320FZ electric guitar/Egnater Tweaker 15 amp.
Yamaha RBX 270 bass/Laney DB 150 amp.

Thanks for the replies!

This was basically a test of my new mics. I played everything sitting at my desk, too close to my computer actually, i had to filter out some fan noise. These are 2 of my favorite songs because i have tabbed out the singing part to then for guitar and I finally got a chance to play them with my own backing track.

For Yesterday, I used an Audio-Technica AT2020 condensor mic (the big type). I have that running through a Inspire Firewire recording Interface. For Imagine, i used my other mic, an Audio-Technica AT2021, the smaller one, but i put it too close to the guitar i believe. For the keyboard i ran it directly into the interface instead of using any mics.
