Hey all. Here's the latest thing I'm working on. It's a work in progress. I need help in coming up with the last verse(s). Lyrics are below. Let me know if you have any ideas. Also- ANY feedback on the song in general would be greatly appreciated. Please note that this is a rough cut and I still need to put a solo over it. I also want to work on changing the drums but i can't figure out how to do that with a hand held little digital voice recorder I'm using for all this.

The song started out as a little riff in my mind and grew from there. I'm still working on it but need some input. (Man do I need the input). The worst thing, for me, is to have this "thing" going and no one to bounce ideas off of. I know I'm not the greatest singer in the world, but so what. Don't care.
I just like playing and singing. (Even if it tmakes the dog howl!! :oops: :D )

I don't have any ideas for more lyrics, but what about if you just repeat this part:

right after the solo? You could even repeat it a few times maybe.
Also, (and these are just my suggestions for your song), but maybe raise the volume of the keyboard just a bit, and do you have any way to ad a simple bass line?

Thats really nice :D I like the song, its pretty good IMHO. Maybe bring the acoustic down a bit and bring the strings up a tad. Then all it needs is a bass line :D I might could help with that if you don't have a bass .

Thanks to both of you for your input. You are right. The guitar needs to be brought down and stings up. This was a first cut. Really kind of a proof of concept. I've recorded the strings/vocals again and will make sure there's a bit more presence to them. Also added a third verse and outro.
Dog, I would love to take you up on your offer. I don't have a bass. Tried doing the bass line through the Yamaha PSR 275 keyboard/synth but sounded like crap through my little digital recorder. Let me know if you're up for it. I'll send over the file to you. Thanks bro!

Thanks Mike. I actually finished the lyrics and did a 2nd? ( I lost count of how many takes I did on this) take on the song. Smokingdog was kind enough to offer to provide me with a bassline for it. I'm sure it will tighten things up when he's able to do the bassline. For now...here's the last cut, with all of the lyrics and a tweak on the mix.
