how do you turn a riff into a motif for a song? i've recorded some little riffs that i like and don't know what to do with them. here's one played several times.
Easiest way: figure out which chords go with this and use that as a verse. Then you only need to come up with a chorus and you can cut&paste them. Give me some minutes and I'll give an example.

Okay, yes, I might have enjoyed some alchoholic beverages but I hope my point is clear. ;)

Strange how we all work differently I always play chords first and then riff into them afterwards. Not sure if riff is the right word but I know what I mean LOL
