I have been toying with this Sabbath-Style chord riff I got from the new Guitar World DVD Special issue (How to Play Hard Rock & Heavy Metal). However it needed more so I did some improving with it. It's not all usable but I think I may have some usable licks in there. I still need to clean up my solos ALOT. Plus I really don't know what notes I am playing. I just kind of went by ear so I did hit a few bad notes in there. Please let me know what you think!

Mike I like that roll at the very beginning, sounds like your trilling power chords, how did you do that? As far as the solo goes I don't think the tone your using fits it sounds more like something the Beatles would have used. I'd make it heavier some how. Some of your notes were definately, let's say off, but there were a few leads that would work real well if you changed the tone.

art&lutherie thanks for the feedback. However as far as the tone goes, I never knew the Beatles used a Sabbath Tone...it's the same tone I used on the chords. As for the "trill effect" all I did was let the open Low E string ring. It sustains quite well.

I knew the notes were not all on. I haven't been soloing very long (a week to be honest). I was just trying to find some licks that would go with that rhythm part.

Thanks again!

Yeah, I was just saying the single notes sound too bright which is weird considering the power chords are so heavy. Are your mids scooped?

Ok mike ...put that bat down :!: Nice job :D The tone might have beed a bit darker, but i don't think they used scooped mids back in the early 70's.
