This is an improvised simplified version of the Gary More song 'Still got the Blues' played over a backing track. I am using my Yamaha RGX320FZ guitar (neck humbucker) and a Behringer Tube Overdrive TO 100 pedal connected straight in to the mixer.

Added a bit of EQ (treble increase) and Delay on the guitar track in the final mix.

Nice stuff Kalle. Love the tone you've got there.
I think the only thing I'm noticing that is 'missing', and really I'm not sure if it is, because I've never heard the song, but it would be a lot better with some vibrato. And by some vibrato, I mean a lot of vibrato. That would add a lot more 'feeling' to your playing here.
It sounds great, don't get me wrong, your timing seems perfect with the backing track, the tone is great, everything is smooth. I think vibrato would go a LONG way in a song like this, slow blues songs tend to call for vibrato like a fat guy calls the pizza place, ya dig?
Great stuff though
Taso
I agree with Taso. It sounds fine, but you just don't seem to be feeling it. You could introduce some dynamics to it simply by turning down your guitar's volume knob and occasionally cranking it as a sort of apex, turning it down again for your outro. Or something to that effect. I suppose you could play with the idea and make it work for you. It's nothing fancy but it might break the monotony a bit. Not that the song is monotonous. It's not. Just an observation.
Nice "simplified" slow blues Kalle. I agree with Hue & Taso, add some of you to the song now to spice things up. 8) Great tone! :D

Thanks Guys for your nice critic
And you are right about the "soul" in my playing.
Sometime in my future guitar playing life I will be able to add some of my feelings in a song, but just now I am fighting just to get the timing and technique ( read bends) right.

Hi Kalle,

Deserve to be there, too - nice playing, lovely tone.....I do agree it needs a bit more "Kalle" putting into it though....Taso got it right when he said "slow blues songs tend to call for vibrato like a fat guy calls the pizza place, ya dig?"
But it is a really good cover.....ever heard GM's guitar on "Parisienne Walkways?" - I love that song! He puts soooo much feeling into his playing - there's one bit where he holds a note with vibrato for about 5 seconds or so, then goes back to the main theme....beautiful playing!
Nice job! To quote Mick Jagger: "Uh, Charlie's good tonight, isn't he?" (Demoetc will probably be on my case now , it should really be "Charlie's Good tonight, innneee?")
:D :D :D

Thanks Again
With all this good critic I will try update the recording in same parts with more vibrato feeling.
The "lovely" guitar tone comes from the el cheapo
Behringer Tube Overdrive TO 100 pedal and a neck humbucker.
Plus that I added a bit of EQ and Delay in final mix.
I tried to get the right tone out of my V-Amp2 with all its Amp sims and effects, but could never get a consistant "clean" overdrive tone all over the fretboard.
Maybe some better V-Amp tweaker could help me !

I'd go with the JCM800 model, or even better, the 'drive' model. Lots of mids, compression, some delay and fair reverb. Don't use the gain too much, use the 'boost' option in the config menu instead. That should get you prety close. The key to Gary Moore's sound is smoothness, and you get that by keeping the gain low and compression high.
Thanks Arjen
You opened my eyes.
With the "computer V-Amp editor" midi interface much more setting combinations was available.
And I have had this editor for a long time .....
The nice thing is having the computer V-Amp editor open and tweak the settings when you play.
Custom Hi Gain amp with 1x 8" Vintage Tweed Speaker (what a combination) is coming fairly close

Kalle, just getting around to listening. Great job, That BT would make a great online jam.

You can find the BT here http://jammer.net.ru/mpjam_blues.html

And yes , its perfect for a collaboration jam as the verses repet themself all the time. The main theme has a turnaround time of approx. 20 sec.
