A few days ago a Dutch politician I'm not overly fond of said he was in favor of putting the Quran in the same category as Mein Kampf, making it illegal to own one, either in public or private. While I'm no Muslim by any definition of the word I do have a copy. It's sitting right next to my Bible and the book of Mormon and that's where those books will stay, whatever those lunatics in The Hague might think. Not trying to start a discussion, just some background info.

Anyway, this song is about that, and expresses my opinion that a government should not stick it's nose in my bookshelves.

Any critique of the song is welcome, even the phrasing, order of the words or swapping one word for another, BUT political ranting will be deleted faster than a blind dog's tail in a meat market.

If you want to protest something, I encourage you to go write your own song and post it here.

Get your mic, guitar and strum a Am-Dm-F-E progression. Rant away and post it. :D

~An Untitled Protest~

Red and swollen tears tumble from her eyes
While cold silver birds who came to cruise the skies
Send death down to bend and twist her tiny hands
And then proceed to target "B" in keeping with their plans
Khaki priests of Christendom interpreters of love
Ride a stone Leviathan across a sea of blood
And pound their feet into the sand of shores they've never seen
Delegates from the western land to join the death machine
And we send cards and letters.

The oxen lie beside the road their bodies baked in mud
And fat flies chew out their eyes then bathe themselves in blood
And super heroes fill the skies, tally sheets in hand
Yes, keeping score in times of war takes a superman
The junk crawls past hidden death its cargo shakes inside
And soldier children hold their breath and kill them as they hide
And those who took so long to learn the subtle ways of death
Lie and bleed in paddy mud with questions on their breath
And we send prayers and praises.

Country Joe anyone :-D ?

Wow!!!
Nice Groove.
Love the Rhythm guitar.

And yeah, that solo at the end....
Did that go from backward to forward without missing a beat...?
Cool 8)

There's been a lot of praise for your stuff from well respected members 'round here.
This is the first song of yours I've heard.
You have a new fan :D

As nearly always with your stuff, I like this, Arjen. Of course, that might not mean much as I like weird stuff anyway.

I like one offs and you certainly are one Arjen. I don't have any of those books on my book shelf but I certainly wouldn't want anyone dictating what I do or do not have on it.

Interesting guitars sounds but like I said you are a one off.

Those who can't dance always blame the band.
