Was feeling bored...

This one is 'Working Class Hero' by Lennon, covered by Green Day.

Its a little different from my previous covers. Maybe you could tell how ?

All comments and suggestions welcome.

Hope you enjoy listening !

Rahul

It's been a while since I've heard any of your recordings, but it seems to me I don't remember you multi-tracking before. I'm counting a straight rhythm, a guitar playing some lead lines and another concentrating on what might be considered a bass part.

Nice work.

Peace

Hi Rahul, it is our good fortune that you were bored. Nicely done. Keep 'em coming.

I've never heard your other covers, so I can't answer the guess thing. Am curious what all you did & how, etc.

David: You got it right there !

I put the 'bass' (bottom two strings on my classical...) on the right channel and 'notes' on the left channel.

Roy: You can find all of my songs on my soundclick page. I will give the link here for you - My Music.

As regarding what I did and how:

1. Recorded guitar and vocals.
2. Got the 'bass' down.
3. Played some 'leads'.
4. Made 'bass' as right channel and 'leads' as left channel.

I did the recording in Audacity. And I know it needs a lot of improvement...

Thanks for checking it out ! 8)

I added some drums...

Me updating the older version by the new one.

All your suggestions are most welcome. :)

great vocals. and you are multi tracking. cool.
everything is fine. the cymbals kinda make me chuckle in a good way.
i hear a thumping rumble. that doesn't sound right.
did you record with a piezo pickup on the acoustic?

Dogbite,

Thanks for listening ! :)

I recorded directly in the computer using its onboard mic. Just like I was singing in air.

And I am far from satisfied from this recording. It has the static computer noise in background, numerous clicks and pops (which disturb the continuous rhythm pattern) and the drums while are clipping the signal every now and then...

It is mainly since I am still learning how to make the hardware work best for me. Now I am thinking to take the help of pros here...

Hey Rahul, nice song. I already listened to it a few times yesterday but forgot to reply. Recording under 'less then optimal' circumstances can be a pain but you did very well. Good vocals, too!

Rahul!
You can sing!
Hey, very nice voice.
And a great job.

My only suggestion for improvement was that it sounded a little too cluttered to me in some places.

But I am really impressed. You did good, dude.

(Why am I calling everyone dude lately? I never call anyone dude.)

I guess you've spend too much time strutting the Miami boulevards while listening to 'Stayin' Alive', dude. :P

No, I think it's more like . . . you guys are just having a bad influence on me.

Hey the Bee Gees live(d) here.
At least one of them did. (Andy Gibb? or was it Barry?)

Not the least bit sufferin' from "Night Fever",
