How do i get a demo-quality recording?

I dont want anything fancy, just something acceptable.
This is what ive tried.

The guitar work sounds ok, but there's no bottom - can you get somebody to play a bass track on it?

Vocals - I think a touch of reverb would make a world of difference. It doesn't have to be very much, just enough to make it sound not so dry.

thanks for the advice. The only problem is.. I recorded both guitar and vocals together. So if i put reverb on then it wont just be on the vocals. And ill try to get my friend to do some bass :)

You should try recording each instrument & the vocals all separately so you can tweak them as needed.
