hi anyone know of any program which filters certain instrument of a song? lets say this particular song has vocals and guitar and i want to remove the guitar leaving only the vocals.
I was researching software to slow down the song for practice purposes and I found one that claimed to do what you are asking - though it might have been removing the voice rather than the guitar.
For some recordings removing one of the stereo channels is enough.
Wish I could remember which software it was - if you are interested I can search for the software again trying to find it.
There are quite a few that will remove the vocal - it's relatively easy, because the vocal is usually equally balanced over the two tracks, whereas the instruments aren't.
I've not come across one that will take everything but the vocal away - but that doesn't say that there isn't one.
Rather than look on a guitar website (where people are most likely to want the guitar parts) try one that is predominantly for singers.
I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.
