hi, does anyone know where i can get a free download for a descent recrding software? please help. possibly something with a noise reduction.

Audacity.
One for every system. Comes complete with a very usable noise reduction, but use it judiciously; oddly enough, too much noise reduction can add new and irritating artifacts.
