I'm not sure if this site has been mentioned before, but I just stumbled upon http://www.wholenote.com . It has a ton of free lessons that I think have been created by users of the site. For each lesson, it even has tabs that you can preview the sound of directly in the browser. And it also has a Groove Builder page which allows you to create simple drum beats and chord progressions to improvise over.
Oh, and I'm not affiliated with the site at all... just wanted to share it with you guys if you didn't know about it already.
Yes I've been there. I was a member for a short whie when I first started playing but the posts and info there got out of control and I didn't like it. I haven't been there in a long time.
You are correct there are a lot of lessons out there.
There were some real nice people there just like here but there were also a lot of jerks and alot of flaming going on in the posts that I lost interest after awhile.

It's a long way to the top if you want to rock n roll!
I've never seen that site, but it must be owned by the same people who run this bass site I used to frequent when I played bass in a band I was in: http://www.activebass.com/
Looks like some pretty good info, and I like the "Groove Builder" thing. I'll have to play with that this weekend. 8)

I agree with the out of control posts. Good lessons and articles can be found on the site, but the flaming on the forums gets old fast.
I may grow old, but I'll never grow up.
I have to say, I checked out their "Groove Builder", and it sounds realy cheesy. :( Sounds like something you'd get from a cheap keyboard.
