I want to rock!
So, I got a copy of David's CIG Rock Guitar book.
To help keep myself accountable while studying the book, I started a blog in which I'll post a blurb on each chapter, highlighting the main topics and a couple learning points.
Hoping to post my own sound clips too if I can figure out how to embed them, but for now I've got some youtube vids that sorta relate to each post.
Have a look, let me know what you think:

P.S. Yes, David knows about it and has given his blessing. 8)

And I will put a link from my own blog in the next few days.
For the clips, you must upload to YT (or other service) first.
Thanks Nuno, my first subscriber!
Ah, so you need a file host for the clips. I'll probably just link to soundclick then. Easy enough.

I use Wordpress for my blogs but I also used Blogspot. Blogspot is Google and YouTube is Google, too. You can easily link both accounts (in fact they recommend it).
A friend uses Blogspot and he uses some of my original recordings in SoundClick as a part of his blog (he is a writer, and he did that blog like "add-on" to one of his sci-fi books, he includes music, images, comments, etc.)
He embedded the SoundClick player in the blog. I don't remember exactly right now but I think it is just cut&paste. (I think he was making some adjustments because the plugin was wider than the space he had for it.)
If you need help, please, let me know!
Hey thanks again Nuno. It seems I can embed the soundclick player for all songs, but not just one which is what I want to do. I'm still working on it though! :D
"Everybody got to elevate from the norm."
No, you also can use the soundclick player just for one song. Go to the song page (where appears the description, author, etc. hmmm... let me see... for example http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=9374869 ). There is a link in the "Take charge" section "get single-song widget". And follow the instructions you will find in that page.
Let me know if you don't find it.
A ha! I do see it. Many thanks Nuno; that will make things much easier!!! 8) 8) 8)
Now I just need to figure out how to record my guitar and drum machine at the same time ... might need to splurge on a cheap mixer!
"Everybody got to elevate from the norm."
You are welcome! :D
My drum machine (a Zoom) has input and output like a pedal. The constraint is you can not connect a guitar directly, you have to use a multi-effects between the guitar and the drum machine, I guess to avoid troubles.
Anyway, a mixer is always a good investment!
I posted my Chapter 3 summary with a sound clip.
Thanks again to Nuno for helping me figure out how to embed the clip!

It sounds great! Yeah! 8)
FINALLY got around to posting my Chapter 4 summary:

A little update to the look of the blog, too!
"Everybody got to elevate from the norm."
Updates soon; been catching up with other things and went back and revisited the chapters thus far (through six.) Happy to say it's like riding a bike - you get back on and know what you're doing.
