Does anyone know how to make an a/b selector. The guy at a one of the music stores I go to, said it wasn't worth the cost to buy one, at that I should make one instead. Is it hard? Where are there diagrams for it?
Thanks
Paul

The guy at the shop has, obviously, never made one himself.

The cost of components is likely to be more than the cost of a commercial A/B box.

I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.
Did you know that the word "gullible" is not in any dictionary?

GB is correct. Plus, while the "electronics" are quite simple for the most basic A/B box, it can be royal PITA to put them into a small durable box that is gig-worthy -- that's assuming you already know how to solder.

Buy it.

There is a complete how-to at http://www.fulltone.com if you're interested. The parts cost to build one is:
switch: $10
Box: $10
jacks: $5
led: $1
of course, you'll need a soldering iron, and the necessary accessories.

Hope that helps! :)

Thanks,
Brian

The Signal Flex SF-AB a/s switcher can be purchased for $24. 97.

The Signal Flex Deluxe A/B box can be purchased for 35.97, which allows switching from one input to two outputs or two inputs to one output. This unique and convenient design allows for both A & B to operate not only independently, but together which can be extremely useful for splitting or blending two sources such as a pair of guitar amplifiers/instruments or for silent tuning on stage. Features one input/two outputs and an AUX in/out jack.

Building and experimenting with gadgets and effects can enlighten you and open up a whole new world of guitar sound and tone.
