Kind of need to know your hi-lo range where you want to frame a "decent price"....
The Fender I just bought was a good price to me...but maybe you would think it too expensive ?

do you need it to cut thru drums? or is it for small venues or just practice?

It will mostly be used for my own private enjoyment, but I'm anal about the sound, so I want a good one.

I'm the same, when i was shopping for mine i did a lot of comparisons at my local MF.
i could only afford the smallest of the Higher end amps like Genz, Ultrasound, or Fishman.
at that time Crate had recently come out with their line of acoustic amps and i thought they were much better than the Fenders or others i had tried at that price range.
I ended up with a 125w fishman loudbox, but that was because they screwed up their inventory and the manager wanted me to go home happy.
if you can afford it i would suggest the Fishman or Ultrasound. if not, the Crate Gunnison or the Durango are really great amps imo
