Ok heres the problem. Ive got this Behringer 120w stereo amp that really kicks ass but the only down side to it though is the distortion, It sounds like shit.....and has like a quarter second delay on switching channels. So I was wondering if anyone knows of a quality distortion pedal thats under 100$.

Ive listened to the Boss DS-1 Distortion, SD-1 Super Overdrive and MT-2 Metal zone but didn't really hear anything special about em....Most of the other ones are so ulgy I wouldn't want to be caught dead with it(green pedals with "Death Metal" "Grunge" or somthing stupid like that written accross em.

If you wanted distortion primarily why didn't you go for a marshall amp ?

Pedals can never give you that tone you are looking for i guess i.e. the analog one.

IMO , stop looking for pedals and buy a marshall MG DFX series amp.

ya. the Death Metal and Grunge pedals. they are pretty generic.

I love my modded TS9 but it is mainly overdrive. you seem to be looking for crucnh and metal distortion.
dont know of anything great under a hundred.
if you are serious maybe you should go boutique and spend some $$.

I have a Digitech Grunge and I like it. The only thing is kind of disappointed is the name of it is kind of deceiving. It sounds better as a metal pedal than a grunge pedal.

I agree. it isnt grunge. the distortion pedals I find have a really tight and grainy feel. not a bad thing jst my way of describing what i hear. I ended up letting that pedal go; it was too mushy for me.
mushy meaning the individual character of the strings or chord voicings moohsed together too much.
my personal taste is for a much looser or flabby distortion. a better description would be overdrive over the top.
Im glad you found your a distortion pedal you were looking for. I still have the one I mentioned. I dont ever use it. it is a Boss Distortion. I dont think they're made any longer.
