My family is going to have a family reunion at Put-In-Bay this summer and I figured that it'd be cool to play some songs for them and stuff. So I'm looking for a pretty small amp that I could take over. I have a Peavey 112 now, and I don't want 50watts loud. I thought maybe the Valve Junior with a little 1 x 12 or something (I might make the cab). The Microcube seems pretty cool becasue I could walk around with it, but there's not really a lot of controls on it. I'll probably have a Boss ME-50 (for Christmas) to run through. I like to play everything from classic rock to stuff like Lamb of God and Mushroomhead. Also, I might use this for small cofe shop gigs or something. Thanks.

the Roland MicroCube has gotten good reviews. another option is a small vintage amp. sometimes small guitar shops have them lying around and can be had without cutting off an arm and leg. plus they have usable wattage, and speaker with a powerful magnet and overdrive easily for that blusey tone.

the small battery powered amps are fun for camping and small family stuff, but wouldnt work for a coffee house.

Theres a ton of little amps (mixed in with the headphones).

I'd reccomend a pig nose (the original), they have such a great tone.

I was gonna suggest the vox too. I think they sound better than the microcube.

The Epiphone valve special would be good, it has reverb, and some built in effects and a 10' speaker. best of all its a tube amp. You would need a distortion pedal with it .--ken
