My name is Rob. I am 60 years old and just started playing 'seriously' about a year ago. My primary guitar is a Yamaha FG-730S that I bought in January of this year. I also have a Beaver Creek "travelling guitar" and have just ordered a Takamina EG345C 12 sting acoustic/electric to replace my 40 year old Framus 12 string "Texan". I am playing mostly folk and country stuff, but have recently learned a few Foo Fighters tunes (Everlong, My Hero, Skin & Bones).
Have a safe and pleasant day.

I've had a lot of sobering thoughts in my time.
It was them that turned me to drink.

Welcome to GN Rob! Still young at heart eh....
I'd been messing about with three chords for about 30 years before I discovered GN....then I found the fourth, and a few more since....hope it's as beneficial to your playing as it has been to mine!

The guitar is all right John but you'll never make a living out of it! (John Lennon's Aunt Mimi)
Welcome. I happen to own the same Yamaha. It is a very nice guitar - hope yours is as nice!
Welcome to GN Rob, hang on to that Framus someday it will be a collectors item.

Thanks for the welcome!
I still play my Framus when I get the urge to do 12 string stuff, but I am having a problem keeping the upper 4 stings tuned. I tightened the tuning knobs but that doesn't seem to help. The neck may be a bit twisted.
I love the Yamaha. I am learning to do stuff on this guitar that I never thought I would be able to do. I haven't taken any lessons (yet) - I probably will when I reach my first plateau.
I am loving this new phase of my life. I wish I had of started playing guitar when I was younger.
Let me know if you would like to see some pics of my guitars.
Thanks again.
