Hi everyone. I'm Ken and I think this site is Great.
The guitar lessons are about the best I've found and are right where I am as far as my playing goes.
I hate just strumming chords. I like putting in bass lines and fills, and so I'm enjoying learning all the songs very much.
Thankx to all the contributing teachers - especially Mr. Hodge.
I also enjoy the Songwriters forum. I peruse that area often. Keep up the good work there!
Well, let's see....
I started playing at a young age - and quit at a young age.
I wish I would've stuck with it and learned how to read music.
Oh well.
Started playing again at 18 in a band until I was 23. (1988 - 1993)
Then just sorta went solo acoustic, not doin' much.
Divorced 3 years ago and an 18 year old kid I was working with got me back into playing.
My main guitar is an '88 Fender Strat American Standard - all stock. Had it since it was new.
My acoustic is a '91 Ovation Custom Balladeer (USA), with a cedar top (I play with my fingers)
My FAVORITE guitar is my '71 Strat. Ash body/rosewood fretboard. Amazing tone.
I had a '63 Gibson SG w/P-90's - Sold that and my 2x12 to pay for our honeymoon.
I am currently without an amp - though I can plug into my old 70's JVC 2 ch. cassette deck
and get a good clean-overdriven tone.
I favor the tone of point to point handwired all tube amps.
My favorite guitar player is Peter Green from the original Fleetwood Mac (and of course Danny Kirwan).
I guess I'm primarily into the blues, and being as I'm from the Southside of Chicago,
yes, Mike Bloomfield is also a favorite.
My originals aren't all that bluesy though - More eclectic. I have many influences.
So that's a bit about me and hope to see ya around,
Ken

Hope you don't mind me takin' a guess at that name....
Does Bally have anything to do with Pinball machines????
And does Biker have anything to do with Motorcycles????
If so - in addition to selling my SG and Amp, I also sold my '71 Triumph T-150V Trident Triple.
Thankx for the warm welcome Bro (%

For a guy that has a green haired headbanger for an avatar -
you seem pretty well informed and down to earth. (%
And back to you ballybiker - Checked out your "public" stuff.
Very Good my friend.
For the short time you've been playin', that was some impressive work.
I really like how comfortable you are with 'space'.
Most players are horrified with silence.
Well done - :D
