Hey folks -
Long time lurker first time poster....
I first tried playing when I was much younger and wasn't making much progress so I basically stashed my guitar under the bed for about 20 years!
When my Son expressed interest in playing I revisited the guitar once again and later found this forum through a friend at work. My wife bought me a new guitar last Christmas and I've been practicing daily since then.
Anyway, I've really learned a lot reading the threads here and trying out the lessons. I also now realize the things that frustrate me others have worked through which is good to know. I've always felt musically challenged but I'm beginning to feel like I'm making some progress. I doubt I'd have taken it back up if it were not for this forum (my favorite) and other online resources.
Cheers!

Where in Maryland are you?
I'm in Alexandria, VA.
Thanks Dan!
Hey Nick,
I'm basically in Rockville. Lot's of guitar players around the Beltway it seems!
I might be heading down your way - to Action guitars this week with a friend - just to drool a little.
Cheers!

Welcome to GN, Dubyatf! :D
Welcome to GN, hope you like it here :)

Welcome! I work in Bethesda and get up to the Rockville GC fairly often. Too often, in fact ... tough to suppress the urge to buy gear. :)

Then it's hard for me to resist when you have a yard sale.

I buy and sell bits and pieces. You're the one who has full-blown warehouse sales.

Sad but true
Thanks to all for the warm welcome guys - and since I'm local to some of you..., remember to let me know about these 'sales' ! LOL!
Welcome to GN, Dubyatf. Your name is interesting...
Enjoy your stay here !
Welcome fellow lurker!
I grew up in Rockville, behind RMHS (Hungerford)... Then we moved to Germantown... Now we are in Brunswick where I ride the train to D.C. for work.
The guitar creeps back into your life doesn't it?

See ya,

Hi dubyatf. Welcome to GN. Nothing helps more than knowing others have struggled with the same thing we're going through at any given time. There are naturally gifted musicians (one of which I'm not), so for the rest of us, it's great to know that we too can improve. Good luck.
Denny
Welcome to GuitarNoise, Dubyatf! We look forward to seeing you around the forums! :D
