After browsing this forum for a couple hours i figured i'd go ahead and join up.I'm very impressed with the amount of info on here and learned a few things already :) I've had a few guitars and basses since i was about 13 years old (i'm 29 now),and have'nt played anything for about 5 years. At a friends party a few weeks ago, and after talking to him about playing again, he gave me an old neglected Samick guitar (Strat wannabe)that was in desperate need of TLC.It had about 100 stickers on it and had no strings, and some of the wiring needed to be re-attached.After spending a few fun hours of playing guitar mechanic, i broke down and bought a new blue Schecter Omen-7.I've wanted to test drive a 7-string and it was very affordable with a pretty finish, and i've heard alot or good reviews of Schecther guitars. As far as music i'm into it's everything from Metal to Classic Rock to New wave to Punk and Ska to House and Techno.I feel that there is something to be learned from all forms of music,And as long as it's good i'm down^^ I look forward to learning and sharing my ideas on here,Keep up the great work!!
welcome to the refuge for the string-addicted! Lots to do and see, good info, good people...gotta love it!

Welcome to GN.
Nice choice with the Schecter!
But I don't have a problem. I'm not a guitaroholic, really.
I'll just be heading to GC after work to visit friends....yeah that's it....visit friends.

Thanks for the warm welcome, It's an honor to be here.As far as the Samick goes,i'm still in the stage of peeling all of the "It's all good." and smiley face stickers :) off of it.The wiring issue looks simple enough though, its just one disconnected wire to the jack i think i'll fix it tonight with a simple soder after work. Also, I'm still in the process of deciding on a amp and stuff too, after years of playing on 2nd hand generic guitars and amps i think i've learned the value of quality equipment. And this time around i'd like to do everything right^^ Which is why i joined the forums, for advice and reviews on equip before i spend 100's of dollars on a lemon. :?
