After taking my kids (twin boys, 12) to guitar lessons for the past 2 months I've become as hooked as they are and despite my wife's protestations about another source of cacophony in the house I went out and bought myself an acoustic guitar the other day. I'm all fingers and thumbs at the moment but lovin' every minute of it. Hopefully 40 something isn't too old to start

Anyway, this site is a great resource and rather than lurk I decided to register, so hi all!

Welcome MR. UNCHORDINATED. No way is 40 too old to start. You'll find that those thumbs and fingers are going to come in real handy for guitar playing.

Welcome to GN.

Before you know it you'll be jamming with your boys. The wife won't be so against the idea then.

Enjoy your playing.

I'm relatively new to guitar playing as well and I'm fast approaching 40. It's never too late to learn!

As a fellow 40+ beginner, I can vouch for the fact that fingers and thumbs are very useful for guitar playing!

Welcome aboard.
