Im 45 years old and I have always wanted to play guitar ,the other day
a guy at work gave me a brand new esteban giutar package not even
opened,Im not sure of the quality but Im sure for a brand new beginner
it will have some good qualities.

Any ways ,I thought this might be a place I could come to ask questions
and get good answers.

Welcome to GN, Allan.

You could do a lot worse than hang around here.

Look forward to seeing you round the forums.

Enjoy.

I've had a lot of sobering thoughts in my time.
It was them that turned me to drink.

Welcome to Guitar Noise Allan. Like you, I am 45 and always wanted to play guitar. This past spring I decided there was no time like the present to learn so I purchased a guitar and set out on the journey. You will find plenty of helpful information on this sight as well as inspiration and insight in the forums. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.

one thing if you are lucky enough to have the use of the fingers when you turn into an old person then you can play untill you are 100 years old. I am 62 and still hitting the fret board with gusto and the fingers still work just as good as they did ten years ago and before , just don;t lay it down and look at it, pick it up and play it . Keep on keeping on .
and welcome to you and welcome to me I am also a newbie although never really thought of myself in the new catagory. I play some but am not as good as I would like to be or should be but I do enjoy the playing and when it comes together it makes the day . influenced by Lonnie Mack , Chet Atkins , the Ventures and so on . the beattles are a favorite also . :D
