Just signed up today! Looks like a great forum.

Been playing on and off for quite a while, but you wouldn't know it by seeing me play! I have a LONG way to go!

My 10 year old son has been getting into guitar lately so that has helped me get motivated again. His twin brother has been playing the drums for about 6 years and is getting pretty darn good and he wants to be able to jam with his brother...

Family bands are the most fun and the most rewarding based on my experiences.

Hi there Tony and welcome to GN! It is indeed a great place to learn!

Like Bish said, family bands are a lot of fun - I have several grandkids who play various instruments, including one who's developing into an exellent guitarist. He brings out the competitive streak in me, and every time I jam with him it pushes me to work harder!

Welcome back to guitar!

:D :D :D

Welcome!

My son wanted to try playing guitar so I decided to pick mine up after 10 years of not playing. I wasn't much of a guitarist before, but we're both making good progress now. He's 10 and has been playing for a couple years. My daughter is 6 and we're thinking of starting her on piano this year. My wife can be pushed into playing the tamborine from time to time :D
