I too have been lurking here for quite sometime and reallllly enjoying the lessons. I especiall like the way David Hodge teaches...I could hug him!

Anyway...I'm a girl...lol..well I was a girl once upon a time..now I am woman! I got my first guitar when I was 28 (an Epiphone AJ200 I think) My brother borrowed it and never gave it back... picked around on it but never got serious... But now that I am older and have a lot of time on my hands to devote to playing guitar I have chosen an Yamaha LL6 as my acoustic. I wasn't thrilled with buying a Yamaha at first (was going for something else) until I played it..WOW I love this guitar! (and now my brother is jealous too...lol..it sounds amazing!
I also made an impusle buy and ended up with a Takamine EG544SC...pretty, but it just doesn't resonate like my Yamaha. The neck is a bit to narrow as well so I have trouble finger picking..chords sound great on it. (plugged in)
I practice/play usually 3 to 6 hours a day. (sometimes more!) Yes I have one of those personalities that is "all or nothing" so I have learned tons (including how to read standard notation) and hope to one day be as good as some of my family members.
As I am learning I am also teaching my children. They are g/15 B/13 and G/6. They wanted to know how so I am more than happy to teach them what i know :)
Ok I could go on forever, but I won't.
Hello to all and thanks for this site!

Welcome to GuitarNoise, Dawn! We need more female representation in here!! Glad to have another woman aboard! We look forward to seeing you around the forums! :D

Be sure to check out the Ladie's forum "The Other Side", there's some interesting stuff in there! I'm not really exactly sure how many female members we currently have, but, I DO know that, of course, we are in the minority!
