Hello, I'm Barry.
I live about 30 miles south of Memphis, in northern Mississippi. I'm 43 , been married for 21 years and have a 5 year old daughter.
My father got me interested in guitar at a young age. I played in a lot of garage bands during my youth but never went pro, just an occasional party gig now and then. For reasons still unclear, I pretty much stopped playing altogether in the mid 90's.
So, I'm starting over from scratch.
My main focus in years past was Hard rock/Metal and I still love it, but now I'm ready to explore other areas as well.
Lately, I've been listening to XM channels like Deep Tracks , Cafe and The Loft with great interest.
I am rediscovering so many of the great bands from the 60's and 70's, and my renewed interest in guitar is the catalyst.
I hope to make a few friends and pick up a few nuggets of knowledge during my time here.
By the way, I stumbled into the current Squire '51 thread yesterday and was immediately overcome by GAS :)
Looks like this place is going to be hard on my wallet!

welcome to the party :D
Welcome Barry. The love of guitars never seems to leave us.
Glad to hear your back playing. I like some of the harder stuff myself ... well, I'm 46, it's what used to be the harder stuff. They call it classic rock now. Welcome!

Welcome to Guitar Noise! Started playing almost a year ago myself at age 44 and loving every minute of it.
I grew up about an hour east of you in Corinth. Been gone for quite a while, but get back once in a while to visit the folks.
